The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, has officially confirmed the arrest of Obi Levi Obieze Ezeani, who is also widely known by his stage names E Dey Play and E Dey Show. Ezeani had been previously declared wanted by the Enugu State Police Command in connection with serious criminal allegations.
Obi Levi Obieze Ezeani hails from Umuojor village in Isiagu Community, located within Enugu State. He is currently under investigation for his alleged involvement in the abduction, kidnapping, and ritual killing of a 13-year-old girl, an incident that has sparked widespread outrage and concern across the state and beyond.

According to detailed reports from law enforcement agencies, the young victim was abducted on May 27, 2025, while she was walking alongside her father towards their farm. After an intense search operation, the police successfully rescued her from a shrine that is allegedly linked to Ezeani, shedding light on the dark circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
In a statement issued on Thursday by ACI AS Akinlabi, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service, it was revealed that the suspect was intercepted at the Gbaji checkpoint by the Lagos State Border Patrol Command. The checkpoint is situated along the Badagry-Seme Road, a major transit route near Nigeria’s border. Ezeani was attempting to flee the country on a motorcycle when he was apprehended.
“Through credible intelligence sources, Obi Levi Obieze was apprehended by vigilant men of the Nigeria Immigration Service. He is currently in custody, and his identity has been confirmed through a National Identity Management Commission enrollment slip that was found in his possession,” the official statement read, underscoring the diligence of security personnel involved in the operation.
During preliminary interrogation sessions conducted by security operatives, Ezeani reportedly confessed to the crimes he was accused of, providing crucial information that is expected to aid ongoing investigations.
The Nigeria Immigration Service has assured the public that it is working hand-in-hand with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure the smooth transfer of the suspect to the relevant authorities for further interrogation, legal processing, and prosecution in accordance with the law.
