Afrobeats sensation, Emmanuel Adewale, popularly known as Mayorkun, has shared insights into his continued relationship with DMW boss, Davido, despite his contract with the label coming to an end. The singer, while speaking on Arise News, opened up about his ties to the music label and his journey beyond it.
Mayorkun revealed that although his formal contract with DMW Records has ended, his bond with the label and Davido remains strong. He disclosed that his contract has been over for about 3 to 4 years, but the relationship they share goes beyond business. According to Mayorkun, the bond they’ve built is more like family. He remarked, “My contract with DMW has been done for about 3 to 4 years, but I’m still with them. After this interview, the next person I will be seeing is Davido.”
In addition, Mayorkun revealed that his upcoming project is not under the DMW record label but under Sony Music. He also mentioned that he has been signed with the Sony record label for the past 3 years after parting ways with DMW. Despite moving on to another label, Mayorkun emphasized that his relationship with Davido and the DMW crew remains intact, and they are still very much like family to him.
