Late Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, has publicly appealed to her father-in-law, urging him to allow her late husband to be laid to rest following his exhumation for forensic examination.
It would be recalled that the untimely passing of the renowned musician sparked widespread controversy, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding his death.
In an effort to uncover the truth, the singer’s remains were exhumed for forensic investigations, aiming to determine the actual cause of his demise.
Now that the forensic examination has been completed, Wunmi has come forward to plead with Mohbad’s father to allow the late singer to be given a proper burial. She expressed her distress over the prolonged delay, stating that her husband's body remains in the morgue despite the examination being concluded.
She further accused some individuals of exploiting her husband’s death for personal gain, including those who allegedly support her father-in-law while profiting from spreading misinformation about her. Wunmi claimed that certain social media figures have monetized the tragedy, using it as a means to generate revenue by keeping the controversy alive.
In her words: “He is also delaying the DNA test he demanded so loudly. He does not want the truth; he wants the conversation to continue because as long as it does, the money and support will keep coming. And he is not alone in this. There are people on social media who stand with him, who act as his spokespersons. These people have turned my husband’s death into a business. They profit from this tragedy. They have built platforms off my pain. They have made careers out of bullying me and my child. They make money from telling lies about me, from spreading malicious propaganda to discredit me. And worse, some of them even pay my father-in-law a monthly salary from what they make online.”
