Nollywood star Mercy Aigbe was left emotional and in tears on Sunday night, May 17th, during the grand premiere of her latest movie, My Mother Is A Witch, when she received an unexpected bouquet of flowers from the film’s producer, Efe Irele. The emotional gesture left many attendees touched as Mercy struggled to hold back tears of joy.
The movie, which has been highly anticipated in the Nigerian film industry, saw Mercy playing a leading role, showcasing her remarkable acting prowess and dedication to her craft. As the screening ended and guests applauded, Efe Irele stepped forward and surprised Mercy with the stunning bouquet as a token of appreciation for her stellar performance and commitment to the project.

Mercy later shared snippets of the emotional moment on her social media, calling it the “highlight of the evening.” Her heartfelt message expressed how deeply moved she was by the act and how meaningful it was to receive such recognition immediately after the premiere.
“This was tonight’s highlight for me. When your producer gives you flowers right after the premiere of her movie, you will know you did something right,” Mercy captioned one of the clips on Instagram.
She went on to commend Efe Irele not only for her thoughtful gesture but also for her hard work and clear vision in bringing the movie to life. She praised the overall production and also extended gratitude to the film’s director and screenwriter, Niyi Akinmolayan.
