Renowned relationship coach and pastor, Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo, has sparked conversations online after advising young people to prioritize early marriage, emphasizing that the best time to have children is during their 20s.
Pastor Kingsley shared this insight during a recent sermon at his church titled “Red Flag: The Person You Should Avoid Marrying.” He pointed out that biologically, both men and women are most fertile in their 20s, making it the ideal period to conceive and raise children with minimal health risks and financial struggles.
The popular preacher further cited biblical references to support his claim, using Mary, the mother of Jesus, as an example. According to him, historical records suggest that Mary conceived and gave birth to Jesus around the age of 13, indicating that early motherhood was common in biblical times.
In addition to the biological benefits, Pastor Kingsley also highlighted the practical advantages of having children earlier in life. He explained that raising children is both physically and emotionally demanding, and it is much easier to manage parenting responsibilities while still young and energetic. He also noted that starting a family earlier allows parents to avoid the burden of paying school fees or taking care of teenagers at an older age when they should be planning for retirement.
“As a man, there is a best time to give birth. You don’t want to be struggling with school fees and raising kids when you’re old. The process of parenting requires strength, patience, and stability, and these are easier to handle when you’re younger,” he emphasized during his sermon.
His statement has since generated mixed reactions online, with many social media users debating whether early marriage is truly the best path in today’s modern society.
