In a revealing interview, the “Shoki” hitmaker spoke at length about the psychological challenges he has faced for years, particularly the signs of ADHD that have followed him since his early years. Though he clarified that he has never received an official medical diagnosis, Lil Kesh noted that his symptoms are too consistent and severe to ignore.

“I don’t like to identify as ADHD, but I have ADHD. Everybody has a particular level of ADHD to them. But it’s bad when it is a disorder. I’ve had my fair share of that disorder right from when I was a kid,” he said, reflecting on years of undiagnosed but impactful symptoms.

The rapper explained that his awareness of the condition didn’t come from any formal evaluation, but rather from personal observation and lived experience. “I diagnosed myself, but trust me, I know,” he admitted, while cautioning that ADHD is often trivialized or misunderstood in casual conversations.

In addition to ADHD, Lil Kesh delved into the struggles he faces with anxiety, particularly how it is often triggered by uncertainty and a lack of emotional clarity. Living in the spotlight as a public figure, he said, amplifies these internal battles, making them harder to manage at times.

“I feel like not knowing, lack of clarity… that’s one thing that can give me anxiety. Once I know what it is that I’m dealing with or what type of emotion I’m actually feeling or what my problem really is, that is half solved,” he said, pointing to the power of self-awareness in navigating mental health.

The heartfelt disclosure from Lil Kesh has sparked a conversation online, with many fans expressing support and praising his vulnerability. By speaking up, the rapper joins a growing list of Nigerian celebrities using their platforms to de-stigmatize mental health discussions.
