The ongoing saga surrounding the arrest of social media activist Verydarkman has taken a new twist as his close associate, Kokopee, has raised an alarm on social media, claiming that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is now on a manhunt for him.
This revelation comes amid growing public outcry and protests across various parts of Nigeria, where concerned citizens are demanding the immediate release of Verydarkman, who has been held in custody by authorities.
Kokopee, known for his vocal support of the activist, shared an emotional video online in which he claimed that EFCC operatives are now targeting him because he has been advocating for the release of his friend. He stressed that his only “offense” was speaking the truth and standing up against injustice.
He voiced his frustrations over the turn of events, stating that rather than addressing the issue at hand, the authorities are allegedly trying to silence him.
According to him: “Instead of EFCC to release statement, time don pass 10 o’clock, release statement, you no release statement, release VDM you no gree. Instead una release people make them look for me. Wetin I do? What did I do to EFCC? all I need was to tell them to release VDM, he no do anything. Is it because I spoil una plan? na me say make you plan person wey be say dey help people…”
