Late Nollywood actor Junior Pope’s wife, Jennifer, has penned a heartfelt tribute in remembrance of her husband, one year after his tragic passing.
Junior Pope, a beloved figure in the Nigerian movie industry, lost his life in a boat accident in April of the previous year while filming on location for a movie project.
Marking the anniversary, Jennifer took to social media to post adorable photos of herself with their three children, accompanied by a deeply emotional message reflecting on their journey since his departure.
In her tribute, she poured out her emotions, sharing how much the family continues to miss Junior Pope, and how his absence has changed their world. She wrote about the difficulty of facing each day without him, and how his memory remains a powerful presence in their lives.
Jennifer shared: “It’s been one year of standing in the face of our unimaginable loss, and not a day has gone by without a thought of you. Your love still surrounds us, your laughter echoes in our hearts, and your presence is felt in the quiet moments when we miss you most.”
She reflected on the burden of trying to stay strong for their children while dealing with overwhelming grief. She also mentioned how their children still hold onto the promises he made to them, such as taking them to a football academy and gifting their youngest son a toy car.
“You have no idea how tough it’s been, trying to stay strong for each other even as the world around us seems fallen apart… I still don’t have the right words to respond to Jason and Jaden when they ask if Daddy will take them to a proper football academy. They said Daddy told them he wouldn’t miss it for anything. And little Jamon still asks about the big toy car Daddy promised him.”
Jennifer went on to thank everyone who has shown them love and support throughout their grieving process. She expressed gratitude to family, friends, and fans who have stood by them through their darkest moments.
She concluded her tribute by acknowledging the legacy her husband left behind and reaffirming her love and devotion: “To our beloved, you did not only leave us, your family, but so many who loved you and loved your works… Though you’re no longer by our side, you live on in every memory, every smile, and every tear. We shall carry you with us always until we meet again.”
She ended her post with a prayerful note: “We cannot question God right? May Your Soul Rest In Perfect Peace My Love 🤍”
