Adeola, the long-lost daughter of popular actress Jumoke George, has finally returned to Nigeria after being trafficked to Mali four years ago, ending a painful chapter for the family.
The heartwarming news was confirmed by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), who took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the update on Monday, bringing relief to many who had followed the case.

“Breaking! Adeola, daughter of popular actress Jumoke George, who had been missing for four years after being trafficked to Mali, is finally back home. We just received her, alongside Biola Adebayo, who first shared the story, and actor Adeniyi Johnson,” Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa wrote, highlighting the collaborative effort that led to Adeola’s return.
Jumoke George had earlier opened up about her missing daughter during a candid interview with Biola Adebayo, host of the talk show ‘Talk to B.’
She revealed that Adeola, her first child, had been living with her grandmother in Ibadan before she disappeared mysteriously after mentioning plans to travel to Lagos. This disappearance had deeply affected the family for years.
Months later, Adeola contacted her family, asking for forgiveness and explaining that she had traveled abroad with friends in search of better opportunities, shedding light on the circumstances that led to her absence.
In the same interview, Jumoke George shared the personal struggles she has faced, including health challenges and financial difficulties.
She explained that her medical condition had forced her to decline acting roles, refund payments, and borrow money to afford necessary treatments, including upcoming medical tests that would cost around N400,000. Despite these challenges, her primary focus remained on finding her daughter.
Jumoke revealed that all money earned from occasional jobs was spent on efforts to locate Adeola, underscoring her dedication and the emotional toll the ordeal has taken on her.
Biola Adebayo further disclosed that Jumoke George is currently receiving medical treatment at a public hospital in Lagos, highlighting the ongoing nature of her health struggles.
