Gistreel earlier reported that Iyabo Ojo made headlines due to her daughter Priscilla’s wedding to Tanzanian music star Juma Jux, a lavish event that caught the attention of fans and media alike.

Taking to her Instagram page, Iyabo Ojo revealed that she received a formal invitation from the EFCC while she was still in the United Kingdom. On her return to Nigeria, she immediately honored the invitation by visiting the agency’s office.

During her visit, EFCC officials presented her with footage from the wedding event, showing various moments where guests, celebrities, and colleagues were spraying money—both in Naira and foreign currency—on her daughter and other attendees.

The actress explained that the EFCC interrogated her to determine whether she was aware of such practices occurring during the celebration. She was then educated by the commission that spraying money, particularly on individuals, is not only frowned upon but also illegal under Nigerian law, including both Naira and foreign currencies like Dollars.

Iyabo expressed surprise at the prohibition of spraying foreign currency, a practice she believed was not explicitly addressed in public conversations about currency regulations. Nonetheless, she respected the EFCC's clarification and acknowledged the need for greater awareness of such financial conduct at public events.

In her post, she shared, “Following the recent social media publications and numerous calls and text messages from different quarters seeking to hear from me on the EFCC invitation and ascertain my welfare, I find it expedient to release this briefing.

I recently had an experience with the EFCC in Nigeria after receiving an invitation letter while I was in the UK. Upon my return, I visited the EFCC on the 5th day of May 2025, where I was asked several questions relating to my personal biodata, career, work experience, and companies, amongst others.

The EFCC officials showed me videos extracted from my daughter’s wedding where guests, including colleagues and friends, were spraying Naira and foreign currencies.

The EFCC officials clarified that spraying money, including on people’s bodies, is prohibited. I was surprised to learn that spraying any currency, including Dollars, is also not allowed.”

She concluded by assuring fans and followers that after answering their questions, she was allowed to leave on the same day, though her legal representative, O.I. Salami, was asked to remain available for any follow-up inquiries the commission may have.
