Popular TikToker and social media influencer, Iya Ogba, has come forward to defend embattled content creator Ijoba Lande, following his shocking revelations about his wife, Dara, and her alleged acts of infidelity.
In a widely shared statement, Iya Ogba expressed her support for Lande, commending him for boldly speaking out about his marriage troubles rather than keeping silent. She also drew parallels between his situation and the tragic case of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, whose death sparked significant controversy.
It is worth recalling that Ijoba Lande recently made headlines when he publicly accused his wife of serial infidelity, alleging that she had been romantically involved with approximately 21 Nollywood actors. He also claimed to be in possession of intimate video recordings involving his wife and eight different men. These allegations have triggered a storm of reactions across social media, with some people condemning him for making his private marital issues public, while others applauded him for exposing the truth.
Addressing the backlash directed at Lande, Iya Ogba insisted that his decision to speak up was justified. She emphasized that if Lande had suffered a tragic fate similar to that of Mohbad, many would have been quick to sympathize with his wife, without knowing the real circumstances behind his struggles.
“I stand by Lande’s decision to speak out. Just take a look at what happened in Mohbad’s case—it remains shrouded in confusion, with no clear answers. Now imagine if Lande had suddenly ‘kpai’ (died), who would have suspected that his wife was behind his troubles? People would have donated money for her and their child, completely unaware of the reality. A cheating wife can eventually destroy her husband,” she boldly declared.
Her controversial remarks have ignited heated debates, with some social media users agreeing that men should not remain silent about their relationship struggles, while others criticized her for making what they considered an insensitive and baseless statement regarding Mohbad’s widow.
