Notable activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, recently carried out a powerful solo protest at the Delta State Government House, drawing attention to the alarming insecurity situation in the state.
This demonstration comes just months after Harrison resigned from his position as the Senior Special Assistant to the Delta Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, signaling his deep concern and commitment to advocating for the safety and welfare of the people of Delta State.
In a video shared on his social media page, Harrison was seen standing firmly in front of the government house, passionately requesting to meet with the Governor. Despite being barred entry by security personnel stationed at the gate, who tried to discourage and turn him away, Harrison remained resolute in his demand to be heard.
Though the security men attempted to obstruct his access and discourage his protest, Harrison Gwamnishu stood his ground and made his case loud and clear. He insisted on the urgent need to discuss the worsening insecurity in the state and the importance of immediate government intervention.

“I have just concluded a solo protest at the Delta State Government House to draw urgent attention to the growing insecurity plaguing our communities.
The Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, appears to be neglecting the vital role of our local security networks—structures that remain unfunded and unsupported, even as kidnappings and violence escalate.
I came here to express deep concern and to urge the government to prioritize funding for local vigilante groups. This is not just a protest—it is a call to action for the safety and protection of all Deltans.
This advocacy is the reason I resigned from my position as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor. I chose to stand with the people.
