A Nigerian man identified as Victor Sunday, who claims to have once been a neighbor of the popular social activist Verydarkman in Abuja, has come forward with revelations about his past behavior and shared a rare throwback photo.
Taking to Facebook, Victor expressed his support for Verydarkman, who is currently in custody of the EFCC, by calling for his immediate release. In the post, he also included a vintage photo showing himself and the now-famous activist alongside other friends, which has since gained attention online.
Victor described Verydarkman, fondly referred to as "Blaq" in their neighborhood back then, as someone who always stood out as a voice for the voiceless and consistently defended others from being bullied or mistreated.
According to Victor, “I & VDM were neighbours those days in Abuja & the guy has always been a defender. He is someone that fights for you when you are being bullied. WE KNOW HIM AS BLAQ THOUGH SOCIAL CALL HIM VDM.”

Victor’s heartfelt post has since attracted a wave of reactions from social media users, many of whom praised the activist’s consistency, humility, and longtime dedication to helping others.
