Eezee Tee, the former manager to celebrated Nigerian gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, has finally addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the arrest of outspoken social media personality, VeryDarkMan (VDM), whose real name is Martins Otse.
In recent days, social media has been buzzing with intense reactions following the dramatic arrest of VeryDarkMan by security operatives in Abuja. The incident sparked an avalanche of commentary and speculations, particularly after reports emerged suggesting that Mercy Chinwo herself may have been involved in facilitating the arrest.

The controversy deepened when news surfaced that Mercy Chinwo had filed a defamation lawsuit against VeryDarkMan, allegedly triggered by his vocal criticisms and commentary related to her protracted legal conflict with her former record label boss, Eezee Tee. This development drew public attention and further fueled conspiracy theories about her role in the arrest.
In the midst of the escalating debate, Eezee Tee took to his official Instagram page to make a public statement, breaking his silence on the matter for the first time since the incident occurred. His remarks came as a surprise to many, especially considering his previous fallout with Mercy Chinwo.
In his heartfelt post, Eezee Tee acknowledged the impactful role VeryDarkMan has played in Nigeria’s online space, especially in championing the rights of the marginalized and the oppressed. According to him, despite the current situation, VDM’s positive contributions to society should not be overlooked or forgotten.
He wrote, “No one can dispute his contributions by a given voice to the voiceless and amplifying the concerns of the have-nots. At this trying time, I pray for your safety and release.”

His public expression of support for VeryDarkMan has been met with mixed reactions, with some praising his unbiased stance while others remain skeptical about the true motivations behind the statement. Nonetheless, the conversation surrounding the activist’s arrest, and those potentially connected to it, continues to dominate social media discourse
in Nigeria.
