This comes after the wedding ceremony of Priscilla Ojo and her husband, Juma Jux, during which Veekee James walked her followers through the process of designing the wedding dress. According to Veekee, she experienced significant vocal strain due to exhaustion while working on the gown, but she credited her creativity to divine inspiration, stating that she had prayed for guidance and that the Holy Spirit had led her throughout the process.

However, this claim did not sit well with Evangelist Benita Okeke, who released a video in which she vehemently criticized the fashion designer. Evangelist Okeke raised concerns about the spiritual legitimacy of the inspiration Veekee James received, particularly questioning whether such inspiration could truly come from the Holy Spirit, given that the dress in question was revealing and did not align with Christian principles of modesty.

In her video, Evangelist Okeke stated, “The dress wasn’t modest. Can the Holy Spirit truly lead someone to design something that doesn’t reflect decency? If we say the Holy Spirit inspired this, are we not encouraging indecency under the guise of spirituality?” She further argued that not all inspirations that people claim come from God are actually divine, as personal desires, emotions, or thoughts can sometimes play a significant role in creative processes.

The evangelist’s video has since sparked a conversation online, with many weighing in on the matter. Some defend Veekee James’ creative process, while others agree with Evangelist Okeke’s concerns about modesty and the appropriateness of the design in question. The debate continues to unfold as both parties maintain their stances on the issue.
