Yoruba actress, Eniola Ajao, has addressed the rumors circulating that she was behind the arrest of popular cross-dresser Bobrisky during her movie premiere last year.
Recall that at Eniola Ajao’s movie premiere, Bobrisky was awarded the “best dressed female award” during the event, a moment that garnered attention across social media and in the entertainment industry.
However, a few hours after the glamorous event, Bobrisky was arrested by the police, sparking further controversy and speculation that Eniola Ajao was somehow involved in the situation.
In a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Oyinmomo during an interview, Eniola Ajao opened up about the incident, clarifying that Bobrisky’s arrest was not linked to her in any way. She explained that the arrest was related to financial matters, particularly the misuse of money, and had nothing to do with her decision to award him the title of “best dressed female.”
Eniola further explained, “I gave the best-dressed female award to Bobrisky to promote my movie, but I didn’t anticipate the negative reactions from my colleagues in the movie industry. It was a very tough time for me, as some of them were upset over my choice, and I had to call them to explain my intentions behind the award.”
She also added, “I have no personal issues with Bobrisky. He understands why he was arrested, and no matter how much I try to explain my side on social media, some people may not believe me. But I have always had a good relationship with Bobrisky, and he knows that I have been a true friend to him. I wasn’t behind his arrest. It happened because of financial issues, and even though many of his friends abandoned him during the time he was detained, I stood by him and visited him regularly.”
