Popular Nigerian On Air Personality, Dotun, has publicly voiced his disapproval and deep concern regarding veteran singer 2Face Idibia’s recent apology video that has gone viral across social media platforms.
The legendary musician recently stirred controversy during a podcast appearance where he boldly declared that no single woman can ever completely satisfy a man sexually. His statement triggered a massive backlash online, sparking heated debates among fans, feminists, and critics.
In response to the outrage, 2Face later posted a video apologising to his wife, children, and loyal fans for his controversial remarks. He appeared visibly emotional and remorseful, saying he never intended to disrespect or hurt anyone close to him.
Reacting to this apology on his X (formerly Twitter) page, Dotun expressed his disappointment and implied that 2Face might be under external pressure to keep issuing apologies repeatedly. He speculated that 2Face’s vulnerability is being exploited by those around him who might not have his best interests at heart.
Dotun criticized 2Face’s constant cycle of controversies followed by apologies, arguing that the legendary artist avoids addressing matters directly and honestly, which he believes has become a disturbing pattern in 2Face’s public life.
Dotun also observed that 2Face seems to be declining emotionally and mentally, suggesting that he might urgently require professional help, therapy, or a thorough psychological evaluation to address whatever struggles he is facing internally.
He wrote extensively …
“Please I don’t like this 2face am seeing. Something is not right at all. He can express himself how he chooses to but why always make him retract a video or make an apology always like a child. He is vulnerable & someone is milking it. Whoever is holding that camera is wicked.
Someone is forcing him to be who he is not. 2Face hardly addresses anything. Even in his worst of worst scandals. He never addresses anything like this. Something is wrong. He is regressing and I hate it.”
Dotun went on to urge fans and the public to stop always blaming 2Face for every controversy and instead consider that he may need support and proper guidance rather than constant criticism. He emphasized that while people should be accountable for their actions, they also deserve compassion and a chance to get help when needed.
He continued, “I don’t care what his personal life or choices caused for him cos that will be our 1st choice of defense. We all can’t judge him sometimes. He can’t be wrong all the time. Even if he is, I won’t replace the masterpiece he created for his mistakes. This isn’t looking good at all.”
Dotun questioned the necessity of these repeated apology videos, implying that they serve more to benefit those orchestrating them rather than genuinely helping 2Face’s image or mental health. He believed that someone close to 2Face might be manipulating him for selfish reasons rather than truly caring about his welfare.
“The apology video might be necessary to the cause it chooses to convey but why is it sacred to just speak your truth as he lives it? The person letting him do these videos is not making him do it for his brand but for themselves. Someone is taking advantage of his situation.”
Finally, Dotun concluded by making a passionate plea: “At this point, I’ll say this out loud. I think 2Face needs help. Therapy or genuine evaluation. Something is not right at all. I love him so much and I don’t know how. We allow things happen to people cos we blame them all the time. How about we don’t and look at things critically. Everyone can make their choices but not everyone deserves to live with it. We owe it to them to set them straight sometimes.”
Dotun’s lengthy commentary sparked widespread discussion among fans and industry colleagues, with many agreeing that the legendary musician might indeed need support and professional help to navigate the emotional and psychological toll of fame and constant public scrutiny.
