Popular Nigerian comedian, Deeone, has reacted to the recent release of social media activist, Verydarkman, from the custody of the EFCC, offering his opinion on the matter and sending a strong warning to the activist’s fan base, known as Ratels.
As earlier reported, Verydarkman was held in detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for a period of 5 days before he was eventually granted freedom under unclear circumstances.
Reacting to the news of his release, Deeone didn’t waste time in addressing the situation publicly. He issued a piece of advice to Verydarkman’s supporters, asking them to avoid pushing their idol into further legal troubles in the future.
He made it clear that someone highly respected in Nigeria’s legal and human rights space had a major hand in securing Verydarkman’s release from detention, although he deliberately chose not to mention the person’s name directly.
In his words, he said:
“Thank God for the man that intervened, I no wan mention him name, but anything law, human rights na him. Now this is a message to Ratels: please, no go push am again o. As for the financial crime allegations, him go still go court go prove why…”
