Controversial Nigerian comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Deeone, has called out the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over what he described as the unfair and excessive number of invitations sent to social media activist, Verydarkman.
This comes in the wake of the EFCC's recent arrest of Verydarkman, with the agency claiming that multiple invitations were sent to him prior to his apprehension, all of which he allegedly failed to respond to.
Deeone did not mince words in criticizing the anti-graft agency, accusing them of selective enforcement and questioning why Verydarkman received multiple notices when other high-profile suspects were arrested without prior warnings or invitations.
The comedian cited several examples, including the cases of celebrities like E-Money and the children of prominent businessmen, who were picked up without such formalities. He argued that the EFCC's approach to Verydarkman suggests partiality and inconsistency in their procedures.
He questioned whether Verydarkman was being treated differently, saying, "Is he more Nigerian than others?"
His full statement reads: “EFCC I am disappointed with you people. In your statement, you said that you sent several invites to VDM. E-Money wey una carry, una send special invite to am? Yahoo boys wey una dey pick, una dey send special invite to them? Okoya pikin, una send special invite to them? This is unfair; is he more Nigerian than others?”
