Controversial Nigerian comedian, Deeone, has launched a scathing attack on Afrobeat superstar Davido over his public support for social media activist Verydarkman.
In a recent post shared on social media, Deeone criticized Davido’s decision to speak up for Verydarkman, alleging that the singer’s show of concern was a strategic move aimed at gaining attention following the release of his new album.
Davido had earlier posted in support of Verydarkman, urging the relevant authorities to release him following his arrest by the EFCC. However, Deeone dismissed the singer’s gesture as nothing more than clout-chasing.
According to Deeone, this kind of behavior is what separates Davido from other globally recognized Nigerian artists like Wizkid and Burna Boy. He claimed that Davido only gets involved in issues once they start trending online.

“Can you see why Wizkid and Burna Boy will always be greater than Davido in this life? This thing now wey Davido tweet, does it make sense? Okay now as you dey tweet make them free your guy, EFCC office is it online? Davido will never jump on something until the thing don dey trend…”
