Ihuoma Julia Nneji, the daughter of the prominent owner of ABC Transport, has raised serious concerns about the actions of the Nigeria Police Force, accusing them of declaring her wanted without any prior invitation or knowledge of a formal petition against her. The allegations, she claims, came as a shock after she found herself listed in a Special Police Gazette Bulletin issued by the National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja for accusations related to criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, and cyberstalking. This development, she alleges, occurred without her having been informed beforehand or invited to provide a statement to address any such claims against her.

Over the weekend, Nneji shared her grievances, describing how she was stunned to see her name published in the bulletin, which listed her as a wanted individual. In a heartfelt statement, she vehemently denied all of the allegations leveled against her, asserting that she had never been involved in defaming or blackmailing anyone, nor had she used her verified social media accounts or any other platforms to spread falsehoods about anyone. Nneji expressed her confusion over the situation, explaining that, contrary to the accusations, she was actually the victim of blackmail and harassment, a situation she attributes to her ex-fiancé, Henry Uzochukwu, who, according to Nneji, is the complainant in the case that led to the police investigation.

Narrating her side of the story, Nneji explained that her relationship with Uzochukwu began in April 2024, when they met and started getting to know each other. However, she revealed that their relationship took a turn for the worse when, in August 2024, she decided to call off their planned wedding, which had been scheduled for November 2024. Nneji claims the decision to cancel the wedding was based on unresolved issues regarding Uzochukwu’s sexuality, which she had discovered during her personal investigations. According to her, the evidence she uncovered suggested that Uzochukwu was gay, a fact that she claims he had hidden from her. She further explained that upon learning this, she made the decision not to proceed with the marriage, feeling deceived and manipulated by the numerous lies he had told her during their time together.

In her recount of events, Nneji revealed that her investigations into Uzochukwu's past relationships unveiled startling information, including the fact that he had been engaged multiple times before without disclosing the reasons for the failed marriages. One particularly shocking revelation, she said, was that the woman he was set to marry prior to Nneji had called off the engagement just one week before their planned wedding due to the same issues regarding his sexuality. These discoveries, Nneji asserts, further fueled her decision to call off the wedding, which, according to her, prompted Uzochukwu to react with anger and resentment.

Following the cancellation of their wedding plans, Nneji claims Uzochukwu began to harass her, issuing threats against her life and accusing her of operating an Instagram page dedicated to spreading rumors about him. Nneji strongly denies these claims, calling them entirely speculative and untrue, emphasizing that she had no involvement in the creation or operation of any such Instagram page. She also stated that his actions since the breakup have been both damaging and harmful, leaving her to deal with the emotional and legal fallout of his accusations.

As of the time of writing, there has been no official response from the Nigeria Police Force regarding Nneji's accusations or the circumstances surrounding the police bulletin that listed her as a wanted person. The situation has raised several questions regarding the processes involved in declaring individuals wanted in such circumstances, especially when they have not been formally invited or notified by the police about any investigation or petition against them. Nneji’s case has attracted attention, and many are closely watching to see how the Nigeria Police Force will address the allegations and what steps will be taken moving forward. At the moment, the media personality and entrepreneur continues to maintain her innocence, and she remains determined to clear her name amidst the ongoing controversy.
