Popular Nigerian actor and comedian, Black Camaru, has publicly shared his struggles, revealing how he went from being a well-paid entertainer to facing financial hardship and homelessness.
The comedian recently sat down for an emotional interview with content creator, Mrlilgaga, where he opened up about his downfall and the regrets that haunt him today.
During the interview, Black Camaru disclosed that he was once financially stable and even received a whopping N5 million for his role in the blockbuster movie, Gangs of Lagos. However, despite his substantial earnings, poor financial choices and unchecked habits have left him struggling to make ends meet.
He admitted that his excessive drinking and smoking habits played a significant role in his financial ruin. According to him, his addiction to alcohol spiraled out of control, leading to reckless spending and an eventual financial downfall.
The comedian expressed deep regret over his past lifestyle, acknowledging that his drinking habit was a major contributing factor to his current state. He lamented that his choices not only affected his career but also left him without a stable home.
In his words, “I used to earn a lot, but my drinking habit consumed me. I regret being a drunkard because it has led me to where I am today—struggling to survive.”
