Tunde Phoenix, former manager of Nigerian music sensation, Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has taken to social media to call out the singer for allegedly neglecting his sick father, who is reportedly battling a stroke.

In a passionate series of posts, Phoenix criticized the singer’s silence and vowed to set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the ailing man’s treatment. This development has stirred widespread reactions, as social media users debate the responsibility of children towards their parents, even in complex family dynamics.

Phoenix’s statement came just hours after a man identified as Fatai Odunsi, who claims to be Asake’s biological father, made an emotional public appeal for financial assistance to cover his medical bills.

In a video that has since gone viral, Odunsi introduced himself and detailed his alleged struggles, stating:

“Good day, everyone. I am the biological father of Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake. The last time I saw him was in March 2022, when my illness began. If I call Asake, he doesn’t pick up. Please help me; I need your assistance.”

Following Odunsi’s plea, Phoenix reacted strongly, condemning Asake’s perceived indifference and expressing his determination to intervene.

He pledged to personally locate Odunsi and investigate the situation, emphasizing that he would conduct a full interview to uncover the truth about the alleged estrangement. He also declared that if Asake refused to help, the public would step in to support the ailing man through crowdfunding.

In a series of posts, Phoenix wrote:

“One by one, God will reveal who they truly are. These are no longer my words. Go and pick up your father. We don’t care if he left when you were a child. In fact, I believe that man over anything you might say.”

“If you don’t, we will take on your responsibilities for you and conduct a full interview with him to reveal the truth the public deserves to know.”

“You are a public figure. Get a PR girl to put a statement together—or I will. P.S.: PR girl is a vibe. I’d definitely date her; she has a good heart but keeps bad company.”

“Operation GoFundMe for your father. Please help us locate the old man. His son refuses to listen and abandons those who once helped him.”

“Even if they left you, should you act like them when God has blessed you beyond your wildest dreams? A man’s heart reveals everything. Please, let’s find this father and get him the help he needs. These children have audacity.”

The controversy has sparked heated debates across social media, with many users taking sides on the issue.
