Joy Mojisola Raimi, a 24-year-old graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, has made history as she is crowned Miss World Nigeria 2025. Representing Osun State, Raimi emerged victorious at the prestigious pageant finale, which took place at the iconic Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The highly anticipated announcement was delivered by Silverbird Group founder, Ben Murray-Bruce, who took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday to share the exciting news and extend his heartfelt congratulations. “Congratulations to Joy Mojisola Raimi, the 24-year-old representing Osun State, on being crowned Miss World Nigeria 2025!” Bruce wrote in his celebratory post.
This year’s Miss World Nigeria competition featured 37 talented and elegant contestants from across the country, each vying for the coveted crown. Raimi distinguished herself through her exceptional poise, articulate communication, and unwavering dedication to humanitarian service. Her outstanding qualities captured the attention of both the judges and the audience, ultimately earning her the national title.
In addition to her beauty and grace, Raimi is widely recognized for her passion for social impact. She is the visionary founder of The Love for Humanity project, an initiative that aims to promote compassion, empower underprivileged communities, and restore hope to those facing difficult life circumstances. Her project has already touched many lives, positioning her as not just a beauty queen, but a changemaker.
Ben Murray-Bruce highlighted that Raimi’s road to the crown was paved with resilience and personal growth. He shared that she had endured a challenging childhood, which deeply influenced her journey and strength of character. In the final round of the competition, she faced tough contenders including Miss Imo, Miss Ebonyi, Miss Abuja, and Miss Abia.
When questioned on how she overcame bullying, Raimi courageously shared an emotional account of growing up without her mother and suffering emotional abuse at the hands of her caregiver. Despite the harsh discouragements and being told she would never achieve anything, she triumphed and used her experiences as a driving force for her success.
“She emphasized that despite being told she would never amount to anything, she has proven otherwise by achieving this milestone,” Ben Murray-Bruce noted, applauding her bravery and determination.
With her newly earned title of Miss World Nigeria 2025, Raimi is set to represent Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World pageant. The global event will be held in Hyderabad, India, from May 7 to 31, where she will compete alongside contestants from over 140 countries.
